The Generals fall in Whiting before the All-Star break07/06/2024 9:53 PM -
The Northwest Indiana Oilmen lead was built brick-by-brick throughout Saturday night, winning 7-1.
The Oilmen scored first in the opening inning after Ryan Groberski singled and Dasaan Lee doubled.
The Oilmen added additional runs in the third, fifth and seventh innings.
The Generals' one run came on a based loaded hit-by-pitch for Ayden Elixson in the eighth inning.
Draza Dupor took the loss for the Generals while starting the game. Dupor tossed four and one-third innings giving up five runs on eight hits while striking out seven.
RJ Bergren earned the win for the Oilmen with five innings of work accumulating seven strikeouts and only three hits.
Jake Osteen and Josh Outlaw collected two hits for the Generals. Connor Jerkatis had two walks, the Generals had six at the plate Saturday night.
The Generals will enjoy a four-day break for the Northern League All-Star Game on Tuesday.
"It'll be a good restart for the guys," said Generals manager Amir Wright, "it gives a good halfway point in the season."
