An eight-run seventh inning propelled the Griffith Generals to an 11-5 win on Wednesday night against the Elkhart County Miracle.

In the seventh, Graham Gonzalez and Tripp Davis singled, Gonzalez's single scored one run while Davis' scored two. The Generals also scored on two separate errors and multiple walks.

"It was not the cleanest game from either side," said Generals manager Amir Wright, "but we were able to come out on the victorious side."

The Generals started their scoring in the first inning when Cole Hockman singled scoring one run. Miracle outfielder AJ Van Bogaert doubled in the second to tie the game at 1-1.

The Generals took the lead back in the fourth inning, where Miracle pitcher Sam Russo induced a fielder's choice, but one run scored giving Griffith a 2-1 advantage.

The Miracle tied the game again in the top of the seventh inning when Nathaniel Garcia drew a walk with the bases loaded, however, the Generals' eight-run bottom of the seventh quickly turned the game back in the Generals' favor.

Adam Young earned the win for the Generals. Young gave up three runs on just one hit over two innings while striking out three. Draza Dupor started on the mound for the Generals. Dupor allowed one run over five innings off three hits while striking out seven Mirale batters.

Neraldo Catalina took the loss for the Miracle, allowing eight runs on two hits while walking four batters. Catalina was also ejected from Wednesday night's game while in the dugout in the bottom of the eighth. Sam Russo started for the Miracle. Russo allowed two runs over six innings off six hits while striking out eight batters.

Davis drove three runs in for the Generals in a 1-for-5 day at the plate. Gonzalez and Jaime Luna each had two hits. Braylon Holland drew three walks out of the eight-hole in the lineup. The Generals drew eight walks during the game. The Generals stole seven bases during the game.

"We're playing pretty good. If the pitching holds up, we'll play defense," Davis said.

The Generals improve to 6-10 on the year and face the Northwest Indiana Oilmen on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Oil City Stadium.
